Don't Drink While Sane (Villanelle)
Don't you go drinking in the light of day
It is what they say so that you keep sane
What is sanity without some fun, eh?
They don't understand life is but a play
Too much grunt and too much rules to maintain
Don't you go drinking in the light of day
They say sanity is the righteous way
And that bohemia at fault remains
What is sanity without some fun, eh?
The ways of the art may express that way
They get uncomforted with other's gains
Don't you go drinking in the light of day
But drink with some measure you may convey
Leave some of yourself for the liquid grain
What is sanity without some fun, eh?
Rest assured your eloquence will remain
And don't listen to the words of dismay
Don't you go drinking in the light of day
What is sanity without some fun, eh?
Last Meal (Dramatic Monologue)
Hi, I am Anna, just an ordinary girl
But you will soon find out
There is more than meets the eye
I am a vivid and intellectual explorer
I like to get into people’s minds and free their souls
Magnifying glass over the truth within
I believe we are fools trapped into rules and dreams
Oh, no, dreams never come true, it’s just an illusion to keep you going, in case you wonder..
And while you go, you forget what really matters …
First it’s opium and then reality hits
Lithium, and you see the truth
I committed those crimes and this is my confession
Won’t plea innocence, the deed is done
Please, just understand that I am no monster
I just want you to see that while my hands feel these cold bars
My mind sees the truth within and then, I free my victims souls
And before my last meal, I just wanted to say that I am just
An ordinary girl, no harm intended
Nice to meet you.
